Artificial Intelligence at the Crossroads: Building Sustainable Future

November 21st to 22nd, 2024 | Batam, Indonesia

About BIC 2024

Humans are experiencing rapid globalization and technological advancements, with artificial intelligence (AI) being a notable innovation. AI has become crucial in building a sustainable future, significantly impacting various fields such as industry, transportation, healthcare, the environment, and policy formation. However, the primary challenge lies in integrating AI with sustainable development in a way that includes humans as an indispensable element.

AI offers immense potential for enhancing efficiency and productivity, optimizing resources, and improving human life quality. Nonetheless, its implementation also poses challenges, such as suboptimal resource use and increased social inequality due to reduced social interaction. Therefore, a comprehensive and sustainable approach is necessary to integrate AI across various sectors for a sustainable future.

This topic will be addressed at the 2024 Brawijaya International Conference (BIC 2024), serving as a key initiative for Universitas Brawijaya to support AI development that benefits all societal levels. This aligns with the belief that AI should enhance societal adaptability to technology and ease human activities.
